Atlantis Dorsten

Where a tropical atmosphere meets spectacular slide fun, there’s a whole lot of technology behind the scenes. As part of the new installation of a slide beneath the impressive dome at Atlantis Dorsten, we had the opportunity to implement a versatile technology package that enhances existing attractions and enables new experiences.

A particular highlight is the lighting for the massive dome, designed and supplied by WEAD. It effectively showcases the architecture and emphasizes the pool’s tropical ambiance. Changing lighting effects turn the dome into a striking focal point and create a special atmosphere—regardless of the weather outside.

WEAD’s technology is also behind the fun of the slides: We supplied the sensor and control technology for the entire slide system—both for the two new slides and for the existing slide tubes. This reliably supports and monitors the technical operations of the attractions. As a result, the operator can now also collect operational data from all the slides.

Another aspect of the project demonstrates just how flexible our systems are: Using our technology and the right effects, the operator was able to modernize and upgrade an existing slide on their own.

This is one way to enhance an existing attraction with new visual effects—an example of how well-designed technology not only makes new projects possible but also helps fully realize the untapped potential of existing attractions.

From the impressive dome lighting to sensor and control technology and the modernization of existing slides, the project at Atlantis Dorsten brings together various aspects of our work.
